Now the homepage. The swamp, finished properly. The slop is already afloat, tilting on the swell, sitting in the muck rather than on it, and now and then glugging under; it gives off twinkles like a smell. The swamp swells and a bud breaks through in a coat of muck that stretches up with it, lets go and slides off. Pads unfurl flat on the water, a leaf comes up rolled and opens, and at full height the flower opens ring by ring: a lotus modelled in 3D and drawn like an engraving, the petals' backs hatched and their faces left pale. The slop clears away from it.

A potter's wheel: the machine gives the speed, the hands give the form. A lump of clay heaves up out of the black, spinning hard, wobbling and flinging slip. It's coned up and pressed down until it runs true, opened, and pulled up in three pulls - you see the ridge of clay ride up the wall each time. Then it's shaped into a bottle, and glaze runs down it from the rim, stopping short of the foot, which stays raw. The wheel slows and the pot keeps turning on it, white on black, its throwing lines creeping up the wall.

Topiary: growth is easy, knowing what to cut is the craft. A shrub bursts out of the black at speed, all leaves and whippy shoots, well past any shape. A perfect circle is drawn round it like a compass and whatever is outside the line falls away as clippings. What's left is a clipped ball, lit from the top left, on a clean stem. Every few seconds a shoot strays out past the line and is snipped - the care doesn't stop at launch.
